Mr Les Carrick Les Carrick 1929-2008
Les Carrick
a founding member back in 1961 of our club, as well as a life member and
club patron passed away July 2008. He was a man who always had a warm smile,
sense of humor, a firm hand shake and a word of encouragement. He was a
tremendous motivator and a person when he walked into the room carried a
mana of respect with him. As far as Grants Braes is concerned Les Carrick
is a man who has affected and influenced generations upon generations @
our club. The skills programme which he started with 4 - 6 year olds, which
still carries on today was the talk of the town when Les ran it. He was
great with the kids they loved him, and armed with enthusiasm to pass on
his experience and love for the game he saw many others enjoy football and
get the benefits in the same way he did. Every Saturday in senior football
there was Les without fail walking the sideline in his Braes hat, jersey
and scarf exhorting his beloved Braes on to victory. As a club we will miss
you Les and we all thank you for the pride you had in our club and the legacy
you have left behind.
